28-year-old
Korean baritone Seung-Wook Seong studies at Yon Sei University in Seoul.
He graduated with a first-class degree, performing in a Kuk Min newcomer
recital as part of the award. In Korea he has also performed in operas
and scenes including Cosi fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Gianni Schicchi and
Il Tabarro.
In December 2001 he won a prestigious entrance scholarship to the Royal
Academy of Music where he now studies under the guidance of Mark Wildman
and Audrey Hyland. His roles for the Royal Academy Opera include Littore
in L'Incoronazione di Poppea ("possessed of astonishing potential" -
Sunday Telegraph) and Haraschta in The Cunning Little Vixen. He has
also performed in Massenet's 'Manon' in a Royal Academy Opera Tableau
production.
