BBC interview with Richard Lewis

Live operatic or concert footage and recorded radio interviews with Richard Lewis are scarce, mainly because his career was at full throttle at a time when TV and radio covered classical music less often and broadly than today. Also, many recordings have been subsequently destroyed or thrown away by many broadcasters in a bid to save storage costs, in particular the BBC.

But Richard's appearance on BBC 4's Desert Island Discs, for example, is only available as a summary of his record choice but a 1965 interview with an identified BBC interviewer has survived and can be listened to via YouTube.
