London concert to raise funds for the Trust

A concert is to take place at this year’s Brandenburg Chorus Festival of London that will, as well as being a wonderful opportunity to hear choral singing, help raise funds for the Trust.

The festival, which runs during its Spring series until May each year, gives choirs and singers of all abilities the chance to perform across a wide range of musical genres and styles in a variety of venues across London.

Elizabeth Muir Lewis, who is chairperson of the Richard Lewis/Jean Shank Trust, is bringing her group Sussex Song Makers to the festival where they are to perform on April 22nd (at 6pm) at St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden.

The Sussex Songmakers are an eight-strong, all-female group of singers from Eastbourne who have already performed to great acclaim in the town and beyond.

The performance, which will be an ‘A Capella’ one, will include works by Byrd, Dowland, Elgar, Mendelsohn, Purcell, Franck and Lotti. CD recordings of the group will be available to buy at the end of the concert to raise funds for The Richard Lewis/Jean Shanks Trust.
